Engine Detailing

To the uninitiated keeping your cars engine in pristine condition, clean and sparkling so it looks aesthetically attractive may seem like an unusual pursuit, but more and more car detailing enthusiasts and specialists and learning how satisfying and sensible it can be to keep your cars engine clean, tidy, and free from grease and other contaminants. This growing niche of car detailing will help you demonstrate how much pride you take in keeping your car clean and your engine will also thank you once it is cleaned of grease and various other grime and dirt! When engaging in a spot of car engine detailing one of the first things you must do is investigate the areas around the front grille and air vents. These locations tends to be magnets for all sorts of flotsam and jetsam that end up getting trapped under the bonnet of your car as you motor along.

There are many car engine detailing tools that will help with the removal of this debris, from air hoses through to simple stiff bristled brushes or even a can of compressed air, anything that unblocks your vents and grille will suffice. Obviously when detailing your car engine you must then ensure that the engine itself is completely waterproof and ready for a spot of car detailing; it may seem unusual but many parts of the average car engine do not respond well to water, especially when detailing and using various cleaning fluids. Areas such as the spark plug openings, bonnet fuse box and distributor must be waterproofed before you even consider commencing car engine detailing. A few odd drops will make no difference but it is best to secure these areas in plastic bags secured with bag ties or elastic bands until the cleaning is complete.

When car engine detailing we also recommend you run your engine for a few minutes before opening the bonnet and commencing cleaning; the best temperature to remove grease and grime is warm to the touch (not hot, please be careful when working under the bonnet!) After this it is simply a case of investigating what solution works best for you, when car engine detailing you should always degrease anywhere that looks as though it requires a clean before rinsing any cleaning fluids carefully off the engine itself. There are even specialist car detailing protecting products just for this particular area of your vehicle and these are most certainly worth investigating.
