One of the main advantages of car detailing wax is that it can be applied on top of regular synthetic sealant to offer a double layer of protection but still with that luxurious, glossy, warm waxed finish that so many crave when car detailing.
There are a bewildering number of brands of wax available for your car and we recommend that you try and number of varieties and read some recommendations before making a purchase; different waxes work better for different finishes so it is a case of experience and some trial and error to discover what works best for both you and your car. Modern detailing wax is applied as a final coat and is that last thing you do after all other tasks have been completed. Depending on your preference car detailing wax can be purchased in various forms, the most popular is liquid wax however waxes are also available as pastes and creams of varying viscosity.
Almost all car detailing waxes will contain carnauba, a natural ingredient taken from the carnauba palm that is packed full of healthy fatty acids that will work to create a barrier on your vehicles finish that will protect it from the harmful effects of weathering. In basic terms the fat from the carnauba combined with the other elements of the detailing wax form a second "skin" on the outside of your car sealing it from the outside world. Many favour all carnauba car detailing wax because it offers a deeper, warmer finish whilst synthetic waxes create a more artificial looking higher gloss finish more akin to sealants.
